know me

Hi, I’m Ida - a modern girl with an old fashioned name. I was named after two of my grandmothers and I treasure that connection to my matriarchal line. To me, a quilt is a link to ancestors who practiced and refined this melding of art and utility. It’s also a tangible, permanent expression of beauty, creativity and love. In a world where so many things are disposable and transitory, I find purpose and fulfillment in creating something that lasts.

I caught the quilting bug in 2010. I started free motion quilting my own quilts on my domestic machine then purchased my longarm in 2016. I find immense joy in quilting and helping other quilters finish the projects they have put so much love into. I especially enjoy custom quilting and creating keepsake memory quilts but all types of quilting and fabric arts are a joy to me.

Quilting Services

 

Basic Meander/Stipple

$.02 per sq inch

Most affordable quilting, suitable for utility quilts, children’s quilts and quilts with busy fabrics that won’t show quilting.

All Over Design

$.035 per sq inch

One free-motion design over the whole quilt. These are NOT pantographs or edge-to -edge digital designs. All quilting is done by hand, not by computer. Also suitable for busy fabric quilts and everyday quilts that will get lots of love and use.

Light Custom Quilting

$.055 per sq inch

Light custom quilting involves minimal ruler work and marking, individual designs for each block, border, etc. with all blocks stitched in the ditch and applique outlined and minimally anchor stitched in clear thread.

Heirloom/Show quality Custom

$.07 per sq inch

Dense custom quilting involving complex designs, ruler work and marking. Secondary patterns and images in negative space. Suitable for your masterpieces that will be entered in shows or displayed on a wall. Turn your beautifully created quilt top into a work of art. Double batting with wool and cotton is recommended.

Memorial Quilts

Starting at $500.00 depending on size of finished quilt.

A lovely memory quilt made from cotton blend dress, Hawaiian or other button up type shirts (no T-shirts) of your loved one. $100.00 deposit required for fabric. Final price, size and pattern will be discussed before quilt is begun. Binding and batting included in final price.

One Piece Panels

Starting at $50.00 depending on size and complexity of quilting.

Perfect for non-quilters! Send me a panel and backing fabric and I will turn it into a wall hanging, table topper or anything else you can dream up. Binding available at an additional charge. Double batting recommended for wall hangings.
